Bacon Carbonara

Preparation Time: 12 min
Serves: 4

Instructions:

Stove Top (Cooks in 12 minutes)

  • 125 ml (½ cup) cold milk
  • 375 ml (1½ cups) hot water
  • 30ml (2 Tbls) Margarine/Butter

Cooking Instructions:

  • In a saucepan combine all ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring continuously.
  • Reduce heat and simmer uncovered, until the pasta is cooked to your liking (approximately 10 minutes), stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from stove, cover and leave to stand for 2 minutes before serving. Sauce will thicken and pasta will soften upon standing.

Note: Cooking time will vary according to the size of saucepan used.

Microwave (Cooks in 12 minutes)

  • 175 ml  cold milk
  • 375 ml (1½ cups) hot water
  • 30ml (2 Tbls) Margarine/Butter

Cooking Instructions:

  • In a 2 litre microwave suitable bowl combine all ingredients and heat on high for 8 – 10 minutes, or until pasta is cooked. Stir every 2-3 minutes during cooking.
  • Cover and allow to stand for 2 minutes before serving. Sauce will thicken and pasta will soften upon standing.

 

Note: Times given are approximate (based on an 800 W microwave oven), and may differ for other microwave ovens.
