Mopani Worms in Tomato Sauce, served with Pap and Spinach
Soak the Mopani worms in a basin of water for 1-2 hrs. Drain and rinse the worms twice.
Boil the worms in fresh water, untill they are plump. (+/- 5 minutes) Drain the water from the worms.
Heat the oil in a saucepan, and add the chopped onions. Fry until translucent. Add the worms, and fry a little. Add the tomato, and cook for a (+/- ) 3 minutes. Add the Royco® Beef Stroganoff Sauce, and cook until tender.
Spinach and Green Peppers
- 1 Pkt chopped spinach
- 1 Green Pepper chopped
- A little oil
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Fry the onion and green pepper in a separate saucepan with a little oil. Add the spinach and a little water. Cook for a few minutes whilst lightly stirring the spinach, and add salt and pepper to taste. Once the spinach has whilted the dish is ready to be served.
Serve the Mopani Worm dish with your favourite Pap and Spinach.
- 500g Dried Mopani worms
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 3 tbsp. Cooking Oil
- 1 Onion
- 2 Tomatoes, peeled and chopped.
- ½ packet of Royco® Creamy Beef Stroganoff Sauce
