
Salisbury Steak and Gravy

Method
Preheat oven to 180 degrees
In a bowl mix together all the steak ingredients except the oil
Roll mixture to form 4-6 oval shape
Heat oil in a pan and brown the steak for a few minutes
Remove and place in a baking dish
In the same pan add butter, onion, peppers and garlic
Fry for 3 minutes
Add mushrooms and fry for 3 minutes
Add flour and cook for 2 minutes
Add stock, and Worcestershire sauce and bring to a boil
Pour the gravy over the patties
Bake in the oven for 15 minutes
Sprinkle cheese on top and bake until cheese melts
Sprinkle with parsley and serve with mash potatoes
Ingredients:
- 2 Tablespoon oil
- 500g Beef mince
- Half a small onion grated
- 1 Tablespoon crushed garlic
- 1 Egg
- 1 Tablespoon mixed herbs
- 1 Teaspoon tomato sauce
- 1 Teaspoon chutney
- Salt and pepper
Gravy
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 1 Tablespoon oil
- Half onion sliced
- Half each green and red peppers diced
- 1 Packet Mushrooms sliced
- 1 Tablespoon flour
- 375 ml Beef stock
- 2 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 Cup grated cheese
- Fresh parsley chopped
NB: you can add a cup of frozen peas in the gravy and you can also use chicken, mince or any sausage meat removed from the casing.
