Zodwa’s beef stew and pap with Greek salad
Chop onion and garlic. Peel and chop carrots, potatoes and green pepper, then cut the green beans.
Heat the oil in a large heavy pan. Cut up meat, season it lightly (salt and pepper) then brown the meat pieces in the oil. Once meat has been browned, set it aside.
Add onion and garlic and fry till soft. Add curry powder, followed by green pepper. When soft, add the meat back in and stir. Add herbs and 3 cups of water. Turn down the heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour.
Add chopped vegetables and continue to cook until tender, (+/-) 40 mins. Mix Royco® Stew Mix powder with 1 cup of water and add into the stew. As it thickens, you may need to add a little extra water.
WHITE STAR PAP
750g White Star Maize Meal
1 Litre water
1 Tsp salt
Boil water in a large pot. Add salt and Maize meal. Stir to combine. Cover and reduce the heat. Cook for 20-25 mins stirring occasionally.
Serve the stew and pap with a fresh and crispy Greek Salad.

- 1 Large onion
- 6-8 Cloves garlic
- 2 Tbsp curry powder
- 1 Green pepper
- 1 Tbsp fresh thyme
- 4 Carrots
- 4 Medium potatoes
- 250g Green beans
- 1 Packet of Royco® Beef Stew Mix
